In a shocking turn of events, Congressman Chuck "Chuckles" Edwards (AKA Lying Liarface) issued a newsletter full of lies today. Particularly egregious was his regurgitation of regime talking points about stating that #kilmarabregogarcia was proven to be MS-13 and ordered to be #deported in 2019.

You're not wrong. So, we have to be smart and prepared. Here are some tips I've compiled and shared to my IG stories in the last few weeks. Full text in the alt text.
- Use a VPN. - Get anonymous, encrypted email and text apps (ex. Tuta, Signal). Be sure the ones you choose do not share data with law enforcement. Come up with a safety plan for yourself and for people in your communities. - Identify places you/others can hide, if needed. - How will you get yourself/others to the hiding place? - What supplies are needed to stay in the hiding place you identified for 24 hours? A week? A month? Start collecting those supplies a little at a time. Food/water, hygiene, bio & food waste collection & storage, temperature control. Use cash if possible. - How will you replenish supplies if hiding must be extended? - Establish a plan for communication between those hiding and their allies. Collect essential supplies for yourself at home. - Store drinking water, shelf-stable food, first aid supplies, & OTC medicines. - Ask providers to write prescriptions that allow you to get multiple months of medications at a time. Refill medications you use "as needed" even if they aren't needed right now. - Be prepared for electrical blackouts. Get a generator. Locate/procure battery and solar powered devices as well as manual tools (ex. Make sure you have a set of screwdrivers, not just a rechargeable electric one). These items may not be affordable to individuals, so identify neighbors with whom you can share supplies and costs. Wear a mask in public, and particularly in crowded indoor spaces. I really cannot stress how important this is. All of our social safety nets are or will soon be rendered useless. If we do not protect ourselves and each other, Covid/RSV/Measles/Bird Flu/Other Public Health Horrors will kill or disable us and weaken our resistance. Which is what THEY want/are counting on. - Protect yourself and others from acute and chronic illness. - Undermine surveillance efforts. - Signal to others that you are not a fascist or pro-eugenics. Figure out what you can sustainably contribute to your community. A lot of people assume their contribution needs to be tangible, like growing/preparing food or sewing or building things. Those skills are important, but all knowledge and skills have value. Using myself as an example, here are some of my considerations when determining how I can personally contribute: 1. I'm disabled/chronically ill, so it would not be sustainable for me to do manual labor or even standing for long periods. 2. Using my librarian skills, I could do research, recommend books/other resources, and plan programs and events. I could even potentially start/operate a small library & archive for the community. 3. I could apply my crisis counseling training and experience to providing emotional support to others in the community. I could also teach others how to best support each other. 4. Visual art isn't really my forte, and my dancing days are largely behind me due to my illnesses; however, I also sing, play instruments, and write. I could start a band or direct a musical or write poems to entertain and/or inspire others. 5. I am a connoisseur of memes. Memes may seem superfluous to some, but they do more than make people laugh (though laughter is valuable in its own right). They also reflect the times in which we live and validate our experiences. I could share memes with others to build connection and spread joy. I could also save and archive memes to form a historical record. 6. I know how to cook, but I detest it. It stresses me out and gives me sensory overload. It wouldn't make sense for me to volunteer myself as a chef, but I could share my fruit prep tricks (i.e. I can de-rind, core, and cut a whole fresh pineapple in 5 minutes).

This is River. She was dumped in the woods shortly after being born & somehow survived for weeks until a rescue got a tip. They caught her days later when she came to a river she was too small to cross. Now she plays in every body of water she finds, from her water bowl to the ocean.
