Post-cancer, this has been the hardest lesson to learn (and I keep having to learn it 🙄) - to read my body and make an honest assessment of my energy/fatigue balance.

We weren't allowed such frivolous things; I was jealous of friends with that kind of thing. Also when I learned to swim (at primary school) my parents wouldn't buy me water wings; I had to use those crappy white floats that were shaped like gravestones. It's no wonder I'm so bitter 😬
