If something is TL;DR, then the best thing to do is STFU. That way you can avoid saying something you (should) regret. I don't know who Michael Lewis is, either, but I did read the entire screenshot. He couldn't have been clearer that he was talking about actual lynchings.

There's a similar mechanism with bullying. My kids were bullied. I can't tell you how many older adults would "reminisce" to me about being targeted as kids and tell me "don't worry, they'll get over it/forget it". And I'm standing there thinking, "ffs, you're 60 and you still remember it.".

Just got home from doing my part in Virginia. Although I live in an area that's already blue, we ALL need to show up today. I have no desire to live in a slightly colder Florida.

Biden literally said that it would be to get the hostages out. Period. He then quickly added "and bring in humanitarian aid", but it's clear he meant a pause to rescue the Israeli hostages before resuming slaughtering Palestinians.

Damn, now I know why it's difficult for me to do daily gym workouts. I just need to build an entire fucking gym in my house so I can roll out of bed and immediately exercise. Clearly the rest of us are losers, having to drive to/from the Y.

Honestly, he threw himself under the bus. All he needed to do was place a Coke next to the plate or, at the very least, move the high-end scotch off to the side. He's so full of himself, he assumed nobody would notice.

After scrolling thru these suggestions--and noticing which ones you're responding to and which you're ignoring--I have a suggestion. LISTEN to the critical comments asking you to change the way you do certain things instead of just responding to the fawning posts.

On a side note, why in the world did Bluesky add a "translate this post" option under your post? I know Boebert and her ilk have neither the reading comprehension nor the vocabulary skills to understand it, but surely most people here are capable?
