I've started puting paint on this one. It is however, so difficult to do this stage alla-prima, but it's necessary given the detail and the blending I want to achieve. Once dry, I will add more layers of paint to each item.🤯🥵

Almost finished with the blocking-in, just a little more canvas to cover before I can start painting properly. This stage is so messy, but the opulance of my daughter's 1st birthday is emerging! 🎈👍🏼🥰

This is where I'm at with this painting. Still in the rudimentary blocking-in stage. My daughter didn't have ginger hair, but it was gold-hued when she was a baby. It still is although, I haven't seen her natural hair colour in years! 🤭
This painting is finished at last, albeit two months later! I was hoping it would be a quick one, but it wasn't. 😐😁
A photo of Bill's was the inspiration yet again (he takes great photos).

Some years ago I came across a strange anomaly in amongst my photo archive consisting of tens of thousands of images collected over the years. They each have a 4 digit number. I noticed similarities between images of the same number. 👇🏽

Me and Bill had a lot of fun at the Brooklyn Museum of Art during my birthday visit to New York recently. We spent hours just in the Ancient Egyptian exhibition taking photos of the amazing artefacts there.

I hope everyone is well.
This morning I got confirmation that I've been accepted into the, International Guild of Realism. I've never been a member of anything, so this has made my day. My website is taking shape too. #FineArt #Realism #OilPainting
WIP - This one is emerging! 🤗

A sideways pigeon looking sideways at us on the sidewalk.
I love pigeons. 🐦❤️
Me and my youngest son literally communicate in pigeon (we exchange pigeon themed gifts often 🤭).

I have been working on my cupcake diligently the last couple of days. Still a lot to do. Things to fix - like the cone right on top. Haven't quite decided if it's meringue or cream. These things matter. 🤔

This is the first of the two pieces that I wanted to do in watercolour. Not as fancy as the second cake I drew, but still a good challenge. Using paper I haven't used before. So far it's holding up well. 🤞🏼🍦🧁🍓 Alt txt 👇🏽

I never quite know how I will approach a painting until I start painting. The story I want it to convey ultimately dictates the style and colour pallet I will use. Nothing is fixed though. No doubt the painting will evolve as I get a better feel for it.

I'm reminded today that there's no pleasing some people. Those advocates of equality who also spout supernal bollocks. Thank god for the block button! I'll not let folk ruin the little joy I can muster rn.
A #narrow cake. My project of the past 4 days. Medium? 🤷🏻♀️

Finally the portrait I've been working on since February is now finished and in safe hands.
This is a larger than life-sized portrait of actor, director, writer and gay activist, Doug Spearman. More affectionately known as, Bill's Uncle Doug. 🥰

The portrait commission I've been working on since February is now done and on its way to my client. 🥳 I will post it once it's in safe hands. Meanwhile, I've a few projects on the go. I hope to get more paint on this one this afternoon. It's been a busy day

My eldest son's right eye at age 7. Larger than life-size and done in coloured pencil, pastel and gouache. My daughter had asked me to join in with the 'Big Eye' art challenge that was popular some years back. It's massive at 14x17 inches! 🤗👁
