Also, it might be wise to travel with a burner and leave your
phone at home. Customs can take your phone if you’re flagged. Couple of years ago this happened when I returned from abroad. They take it and lock it in a box and return after they grill you.

It was nerve wracking. Initially I was to return through Houston, but thanks to a flight cancellation I cleared customs in Honolulu no problem. Not gonna lie, I was worried about returning. Also, I would have liked to stay in New Zealand….
