Regardless, we have to be realistic & fair to the folks who are experiencing this disenfranchisement from their legislators by acknowledging that the issue isn’t just red versus blue—both sides betray their interests repeatedly, though in different degrees.

To clarify, I only counted 4 because I didn’t have time to do more than glance. There were certainly more than that. Most of the very few “nay” votes were Dems, but again, they were few.

I should also mention that one of the plaintiffs in this case publicly stated that many LA Dems are also pro-industry. That’s a really important perspective to add to this conversation.

The roll call vote on the LA legislature’s website lists each member’s vote but not their parties, but I noted at least 4 Dems voted in favor in the house. Tbf, the bill sponsor is a Republican, & the Republicans have significant majorities in both houses.

Yeah the roll calls don’t identify party, so you’d have to look up each member, but there were Dems (like Reps Taylor, Landry, Boyd, & Brown) who voted in favor 😭
