Sen. Ed Markey (D-Mass.) is one of the few to bring up AI's environmental impact, asking if federal government should be studying that. Smith says that sounds fine. Altman is skeptical, saying he thinks the focus on AI's climate downsides has gotten "out of whack" compared to the potential benefits.
