Most who see this image think of it as "the Vladimir Ikon of Mary and Jesus." In fact, it is our Lady of KIEV / KYIV: treasure painted by StLUKE, that originally came from Constantinople as Protection a Byzantine princess sent to marry the ruler of Kiev. Stolen by Russian raiders in 1169 & renamed!
