Hey, still something. My only energy for that is reserved for the day job right now unfortunately.

I don’t have it in me to write right now. Envious that you do. But I am knitting a lot, so it’s something?

Now I want to go to my LYS and pick up some alpaca for a Sophie scarf.

Oh interesting! So if I’m seeing the photo correctly, you’re basically holding the project alongside the yarn. I will have to try that.

Yeah. I’m trying to relax it but it doesn’t like it. Maybe as I practice more the motion will become more fluid, and my pinky will relax. I’m still not quite sure I’m doing it correctly.

I’m not sure if this shows it properly but we’ll see! (Photos 1-2.) I am not sure if part of the problem is because I am used to helping to tension my yarn with my pinky when knitting continental? (See third photo.)

It keeps bracing against the needle. Those of you who use the Norwegian style yarn hold, what do you do with your other fingers (particularly to keep them in a comfortable position)? #knitting #knitsky

Thank you 😊

Yeah it’s definitely a tricky thing.

Yep, have learned that the hard way!

Yeah I definitely was doing a bunch of unknitting a couple rows down early on in this project until I got a better hang of it.

It’s not too bad when you don’t mess it up. But the increases and decreases and troubleshooting are a bit tricky.

Definitely do if you knit continental! I always hated the continental purl to the point where I wouldn’t do it. But the Norwegian purl doesn’t require you to have to move your finger holding the yarn to the front to purl. And all the movement is done by your right hand. I found videos on TikTok.

Right?! Except I work with almost all men and I would guess they didn’t notice.
