Holy shit. As a non-lawyer I want to be sure I’m understanding this correctly. I think the implication here was that the grand jury no-billed her initial presentation, yet she ended up with a different indictment without interacting with the grand jury again. So they never voted on THAT bill?

WTF is going on at the NYT? I keep cancelling my subscription since they’ve gone so many questionable things in the past year, but I love several of their writers. But I cannot fathom what is going on in their editorial staff. It’s like they’re trying to be a parody of what they should be….

Actually it’s the Democrats who want him to testify, not the Republicans. It’s the Republicans who are covering for Trump. So Andrew’s asked to testify to EXPOSE all the powerful people-including Trump-who were likely involved. Does make him fall on his sword though? Yup, pretty much.

Unfortunately we’ve never had many politicians who understand that they’re supposed to be public SERVANTS. But the current GOP crew is just shockingly venal and cowardly.

American here - while I loathe Trump and the ICE thugs kidnapping people off the streets her, I actually might be in favor of shipping Andrew off to a jungle somewhere. But only if he testifies on everything Epstein first. It’s then a win-win for both the U.S. and the UK.

I’m wondering if the American politicians are hoping that Andrew will give them the ammo to FORCE the release of the Epstein files. Rumor has it that 100+ Republicans want them to be released but are too chickenshit to say that publicly. He could do the U.S. a great service to dump Trump.

But this has already been shown by Senator Wyden. He’s been looking at this for several years and has a ton of evidence that both Trump and the Russian mob were involved in laundering Epstein’s money. I think this is another reason why Trump is terrified the files will be released.

Um. There’s also the very big issue of the 218th vote on the discharge petition for the Epstein Files. While I would love the idea that Johnson’s motives are purely based in policy, my momma didn’t raise no fool. Johnson is desperate to keep the Epstein files from reaching the public. Full stop.
