Google Home's current weather display is frequently rubbish.

Like right now. Yes, that is indeed a cloudless blue sky and sunshine in the background. 😆

I envy you your snow. We have so little in the Netherlands, and less each year.

This was from a couple of years ago, near Rotterdam. ❤️

No one knows or writes about Labor Party history quite like Guy Rundle. Here he is on Graham Richardson.

Great read, covering his early life, his criminality and his role in Labor's factional machinations.

Look, going out on a limb here, but I don't believe that Mike Johnson actually exists.

People who look and behave like him only occur in fiction. Surely that face is a latex mask. Surely.

Care for a castle in France's magnificent Bourgogne?

It'll cost you half a million $AU *less* than the median Sydney house price.

While Rob Jetten, the Netherlands' likely new PM, is too centrist for my liking, I applaud the way he stood up to Geert Wilders, condemning him for what he's done to the nation.

Here he addressed Wilders, in one of the pre-election debates.

Ouch. It's hard enough to be a Lesser Hemsworth. This is verging on cruelty.
October 30, 2025 at 9:29 AM
Not good news. According to the exit polling, the Green-Labour coalition has lost support. Wilders' party (PVV) has lost votes since last election, but might still be the largest single party (but won't be in government because the other main parties have refused to work with them).

De Maassilo, venue in Rotterdam, where the Groenlinks-PvdA membership is gathering for the election results. Lit up in the party's green and red. 💚❤️

The Netherlands used to use its town squares as car parks. Fortunately, things have improved a lot!

Guess who's been to the neurologist for her migraines. 😬

I've now been formally diagnosed with "status migrainosus", a condition where symptoms last more than 72 hours. Next time it happens, the neurologist is sending me to the ER to have IV anticonvulsive drugs. Feck.

I know that Charles has been unsuccessfully trying to get him out of the Royal Lodge at Windsor, and it seems he's fighting to stay put. No idea about revenues, but living rent free here is nice work if you can get it. (He's there with ex-wife Sarah, in "separate wings" 🙄)

@theguardian.com's Android widget continues to be broken, with its random combination of images with headlines.

I'm particularly taken by King Charles' new look.

It's not a "king" that Trump is trying to emulate, with his autocracy and embarrassing pseudo-European Temu tat.

It's an emperor.
