The death of a magnificent tree, the largest and tallest on the block. At first, I though they were pruning the dead branches, but they came for a second day. It's gone. Sigh... A big hole in the canopy, just as a very hot summer is announced.

More Products of Canada: apples, onions, leeks. Also shallots, but a bit more nuanced: the packers are Canadian, but their sources are varied. This particular package is stamped Product of Canada.

Be careful: "Product of Canada" has at least 98% Canadian ingredients/components. "Made in Canada" has as little as 51%. Here is a 100% Canadian squash.
