It's hard to tell from the angle but it's actually female, haven't had any males open yet.

Pretty sure it's pumpkin. The only other option it might have been was patty pan squash and it doesn't look like that's the case.

I planted a bunch of seeds last year trying to use up some seeds that were getting old. Nothing came up then so I wrote them off as a lost cause, but this one has decided to come up this year. So I have a few ideas on what it could be, but until fruit starts forming it's a mystery

I think mine are going to turn out to be patty pan. The problem is it's from a seed planted early last year and last year I had nothing but weeds come up, so I have no idea what it is!

Oh I should add that last year I didn't have anything I tossed into the bed actually grow. So this is from seeds I planted last year.

Can't be unless it came out of the seed packet that way. I've never grown anything big like that since I only have a really small balcony.
