Opinionated nerd. Professor in STEM. Love humor and cute animal pictures. Hobbies include collecting rocks and photography. So very tired. I ❤️ data. Pseudonym of Cherish Bauer-Reich.
Had no energy and didn’t want to do a bunch of cooking and was just going to make scrambled eggs. Then realized we had made fajitas the other night and had everything ready to go for huevos rancheros. Best tasting lazy dinner ever.

My friend has students read the Sand County Almanac as part of her environmental science course and has mentioned it many times. I haven’t read it myself but was really excited, based on her enthusiasm, to run across this at rest stop in Wisconsin.

These are my two favorite shirts. I have had them both for over two decades. They were often the apparel of choice for the weekends.

I am not sure why, but this weekend, I decided it was time to let them go.

One of my kids is working as a hydrology intern, and he called me the other day saying he had just been rescued.

I freaked out a bit, but apparently he’d gotten stuck in some quickmud up to his thighs while on a solo data collection trip. A volunteer firefighter came out with a ladder.

The first rule of good borscht is that a spoon stuck in it should be able to stand up.

Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn’t Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, or Alice In Chains.

I don’t mean to be gloom and doom, but this has been living in my head this week.

It’s actually been cool enough for soup, so I made some borscht.

It’s just the top. I have to actually quilt it now. Except for one obvious error, it went together pretty well.

If you’re friends with me on another social media, you’ve likely seen this FB post from a friend of mine. I want to share it because I want people to understand how unfair this is and what our federal workers are dealing with. Please contact your current congressional representatives.

That looks fun! This is my current stitching project. It will say “this is fine” when done. The older son saw an image of one and like it, so it’s his birthday present.
