I agree with this one. Can we also not allow marketing expenses to be tax deductible? That would force them to put the $ into education or R&D. Why should I be paying for or should the government allow a deduction for a communications major to get rewarded for "sales" with a trip to the Bahamas?

I don't doubt that is true. Arizona had a staggering 78.5% voter turnout (of registered voters). Likely also attributable to a well established vote by mail program (active in AZ since 1991). I haven't looked, but how many swing states also have broad vote by mail?
