Never have we seen such abrogation of the rule of law, "the witness and external deposit of our moral life," the great jurist Oliver Wendell Holmes Jr. wrote in 1897. Our moral life, our legal systems, and our politics are in deep trouble, challenging us to rethink and reboot accordingly.
