The Chinese internet has developed quite uniquely. First of all, most people got to adopt it way later then the West - means when Smartphones already started being around. Then Many Western services were not accessible, so local services had a chance to develop independently.

Well, different to common believe, Baidu does crawl and index whatever they can get their crawlers on. Most of the time it doesn't rank for search queries though, if it is not Chinese, but it does happen.

What does "pure-blooded" mean here? I have a China purchased Huawei with HarmonyOS - it is basically an Android fork.

Over the scandal, Baidu stopped delivering any ads for 12 months, while working on systems to avoid such problems in the future. It must have been a reallybig loss for them - 1 year without Ads revenue + probably high penalty payments forced by law.
