Honestly don't have a rebuttal, to me N felt like the writers wanted their cake and to eat it too. He feels like Jin from XB2 if he had BAD conflicting character traits, since in N's case he's suppose to be tragic but he's also extremely cruel (best example being the end of Ch. 5) which don't mix

While i have nothing to prove this, i think what they're going to do is add dialogue to the Kanji and Naoto scenes to make them more clear and/or less subtle. I don't think they're going to change them outright, and in terms of Yosuke thing i think they'll do what they did with Junpei in P3Re

For me it's because it was the first time i felt like a redemption story regarding an abuser was done correctly. The defining scene for me was in the beginning of Season 5 where even after Endeavor saved the day his kids were like "Cool, but that doesn't change our past or how we see you"
