@drivethrurpg.com this is solipsistic at best, utterly cowardly in reality and shows where your politics lie. I will no longer be purchasing from those who crumble to the far right.

Liverpool Beer Festival- bloody marvellous

The 40th Anniversary Special of Scream is phenomenal, especially Inverted Burial by @anadapta.bsky.social . Still got that feeling of claustrophobia, especially reading this panel. Outstanding atmosphere.

Another amazing discovery thanks to the Page45 Comic Book of the Month. Loved this with a sophisticated art style reminiscent of Oscar Zarate. I do hope more of Fior's stuff has been translated.

Warning - contains early storyboard image for Bruce Lee's Enter the Dragon 😁

This from @pauljholden.bsky.social and @johnreppion.bsky.social is phenomenal. If you've any interest at all in folklore, gorgeous art and great writing then you owe it to yourself to pick this up. Entertaining and informative, it is wonderful (a fave for me being the tragic story of Medusa).

Exegesis Lovecraft on Prime is a great documentary that doesn't duck the racism question but doesn't let it derail everything either. Really impressive.

Henry Flint reminds me of Frank Miller circa Dark Knight Returns in @2000ad.bsky.social Wonderful work throughout this Dredd tale, coupled with Arthur Wyatt and @robwilliams71.bsky.social making me absolutely hate Robert Glenn and Hernandez. Seriously this strip is one of the highlights of my week.

Is Cliff Robinson not the definitive 2000AD cover artist? Every single time he does a cover it is a masterpiece.

How great is this page design from Tiernen Travallion? It just guides the eye perfectly.

Final instalment of the best Dredd story in years concludes brilliantly (and another masterful page below). Thabks to @robwilliams71.bsky.social @pauljholden.bsky.social Peter Doherty and Simon Bowland for showing what @2000ad.bsky.social is capable of at its best.

Oh wow. The latest @2000ad.bsky.social cover by Cliff Robinson is phenomenal.

Great new issue from @2000ad.bsky.social with a more thoughtful Dredd written by @robwilliams71.bsky.social and fantastically drawn by @pauljholden.bsky.social

Looks like a homage to the great Carlos Esquerra with these panel borders.

The current Dredd story by @robwilliams71.bsky.social and @pauljholden.bsky.social makes buying 2000AD worth it on its own. Getting definite Steve Parkhouse vibes from this panel.

Roaming by Jillian and Mariko Tamaki is the Page45 Comic Book of the Month. Possibly the best work they have done to date (and that's a high bar) with a great acknowledgment of the indigenous peoples at the end.

How wonderfully expressive is this art too.

Birds of Prey #1 by @kellythompson.bsky.social Leonardo Romero and Jordie Bellaire, is excellent in every way. Curious about this panel though, with everyone facing away from Canary. Assuming this is symbolic (Canary feeling isolated)?

Thomas Girtin The Forgotten Painter by the legendary Oscar Zarate.

I’ve been a fan since coming across his work with Alan Moore on A Small Killing, and this has left me speechless. A master of his art at work. Educational, dramatic and emotional.

Isabella and Blodwen by @rachaelsmith.bsky.social is a wonderful work of fiction. Fun but with serious themes running through it. We could all do with a Blodwen now and again.

Once again I’m imploring everyone to pick up one of these books. You will not be disappointed.

More LICAF goodies. Armed with Madness by @maryt.bsky.social and Bryan Talbot continues the high standards set by their previous. Also a masterclass in the use of colour within a comic.

Now filled with a desire to search out more about Leonora Carrington.
