So proud to bear these marks granted by
@mistresstissa.com

Her birthday’s coming up on September 23.
Please let’s make it a great one!
The marks tell just a fraction of the story. Bound securely to the stretched chain web, i could not see Her as She prepared each stroke. I had to hold very still.

Just finished this incredible treatise on AI wrapped into a breathtaking novel, by @staceyabrams.com
A highly thought-provoking read.
Ten years ago it would have been cast as science fiction, but everything in it is 100% plausible now or in the next year or so.
What an intelligent statesperson!

Paving over history is just vile. I’ve loved the Smithsonian museums all my life. Here’s a picture my father took from the Washington Monument — i was seven. Construction of the Museum of History and Technology (now American History, while it lasts) was just getting started.

Becoming less naive as i read this stunning book.
Really powerful and also beautifully written.
Thanks to ‪@chicagomothmaam.com for recommending it, and @taliabhatt.itch.io for writing it.
And to Mistress Tissa for helping me reach a point where i’m reading books like this.

Don’t suppose we’ll see this on display at the Smithsonian, though they have one in the collection, i know.

Percy Aldridge Grainger was a superb pianist, a complex person with controversial views. Classical music listeners will know more of his music — i hear it on the radio at least once a week.
But did you know that he was also seriously into BDSM?
He liked whipping, topping and bottoming. A switch!

Everyone knows “Country Gardens,” though some of a certain age may know it as “Here’s to the Crabgrass.” I first heard it as a five year old, played by my father on our little cottage piano.
This is his copy of the music. Note the price increase from 2 shillings to 2 and thruppence. Inflation!

Got to stop scrolling and get back to my book (3/4 way through).
It’s not an easy read. But i highly recommend it. Lots of details i didn’t know, and incredibly sad. Still, awful, self-centered and misogynistic as these men were, they didn’t choose to rip the whole country apart.
Until now

“You put on the kettle and we’ll have a NICE cup of tea"
Found this lurking in my music cabinet recently. What a marketing concept!
So, try it over on your piano, if you dare!
How quaint. There’ll always be an England (maybe)
Notice the tea stains

Love these posts by David Cavlovic. Reminds me of riding London trolleybus route 667 (beast plus 1) to/from school in 1961. Replaced by Routemaster in 1962.
Would experiment with jumping off the platform as early as I dared before the bus stopped.

Evidently someone in my neighborhood decided to provide a little comic relief.
Thanks, whoever!
