Yes, linocut is probably the best place to start. There are even easier things to cut but Lino probably gives you the best image while not punishing a lack of experience or demanding the best / sharpest / well maintained gouges.

To work more with the grain of the wood. Broad expressive strokes compared to tight carving of wood engraving. Can be much larger, tends to be looser.

Linoleum is the softest material - easy to carve, has no grain, so nothing fights the gouge. Limited in that it crumbles if cuts are too tight. Wood engraving uses end grain of wood - very hard - you can use engraving tools to get very very tight precise lines. Woodcut fights you a bit, you tend
