Did not anticipate being this stoked about my first CD player in what feels like 20 years. Technics circa ‘88 so jives with the me-decade setup. No luck on a silverface though.

Aside from the good vibes, the creativity and the catharsis of it all, I also loved that there was a tidy wine/whiskey event waiting for protesters at the end.

I love it when I'm checking out an estate sale filled with military medals, fine china, MCM furniture — you know, typical stuff — and then at the bottom is a huge (heavy!) tub of dirty mags.

My post-high school band found a bar buried under ephemera in the drummer's basement and we immediately opened a speakeasy/honky-tonk for fellow teens -- culling bar tchotchkes, glassware, stools and beer signage from our respective homes. We had revelry, Gram Parsons on the stereo and looow prices.
