Final touches on the interior is just cleaning plus removal of steel latches and bars no longer used. Oh, and removal of windows per request by the roll cage builder.

All in all, 4ish man days work to get the interior stripped.

Step 2 of stripping the interior is a lot of work: removing sound deafening materials.

The soft ones is hard labour scrapping and using chemicals to dissolve the glues.

The hard ones are easily removed with dry ice: make it cold and it will nearly pop off by itself.

Next stop: stripping the interior ready for cage builder.

This is one of those typical Pareto things: huge progress with just a few steps, but the remaining details take a lot time. Easy: stripping seats, upholstery and cables.

No no, the question is why *you* aren’t having champagne with your shoarma.

While the subframe was at the specialist, and the gas tank was removed as required for the roll cage builder, we took some time taking care of the underbody as there was some surface rust.

Hours of sanding, treatment with anti rust and paint. Color combo looks weird now but wait till reassembled.

Project #HammBal update: time to get the rear subframe back to new. I sent it to a specialist powder coater. Went with a white color. Just look at it shine ✨ Really happy with this!

First camping trip of the year done!

As a family we really enjoy the electric Buzz camper. Plus Italy is always great. Only downside is it was only 10 days 🙈

I am very curious what this corp speak means as it surely cant be the case that the variety of hw and sw requirements increased? It wasn’t an issue when they started with Nest in 2014ish, why is it now?

Sad news about the Pope of course.

But… fingers crossed that Pierbattista Pizzaballa will be his successor 🤞🍕 🧆

OK Maingau. Understood! 🙈

Removal of subframe is easy. Removal of the bushings within the subframe and control arms is 😖😭

It took several man days. Combination of using special tools, drilling, sawing and burning with fire.

Once bushings are removed, the subframe and arms go on to get proper cleaned and powder coated.

With the engine really done I could go for official import and license plate. So RDW, APK and then license plates. Not needed for track car. But I want this because of the ability to test drive on the street.

Next stop: remove rear sub frame to replace bushes. Removal was an easy job.

Sadly that wasn’t the engine overhaul done: the new waterpump was malfunctioning. Its ability to communicate over BSD was broken. It just ran on full power or not.
Hooking up the old pump showed no error messages, the new one does. Fixed with another new pump. Sadly another 3h work

I took this Hyundai Ionic 5 N for a drive this afternoon.

650bhp, 770Nm torque, 260kmh top speed, 3.6sec 0-100kmh acceleration. Fully electric, but with fun petrol engine simulation mode that requires ‘shifting’.

Impressive car for sure! Good looks as well!

Ive got 24 (old) solar panels. So the thing is I would need more/bigger batteries in order to completely skip salderen on days when its sunny and I don’t charge a car at home.

Example of mid Aug 2024 shows 7.6kwh back to grid. That would mean 4 batteries to be safe. 💶💶💶💶

Trying out the new plugin battery by Homewizard.

> Plugins in normal power adapter.
> Charges itself on power from solar panels.
> Gives back to house power grid when power is needed.
> Integrates in the Homewizard app and display.
> Truly plug and play.
