Unfortunately deeply engrained pop-history beliefs about the middle ages will take a long time to correct, but it is possible so never lose hope😔👊

In general, as a medievalist, someone who every day immerses himself in the medieval world and culture(s), I suffer a lot whenever someone says 'medieval' when they means 'backwards, stupid, ridiculous'
