It’s now abundantly clear that the words ’peace negotiations’ should also be in quotes.

They might say it. I don’t believe they think it.

And without the Trojan horses currently in the EU
December 20, 2025 at 4:00 PM
Surely that should be ”don’t want to play”. Russia could be brought to its knees very quickly, were it not for the fact that it has the Trump crime syndicate on its side.
December 19, 2025 at 7:41 PM
It’s somewhat disingenuous to give a headline figure like that without explaining that, per capita, it’s actually peanuts, and in any case a tiny fraction of what it would cost to hold back a Russia that controlled all of Ukraine.
December 19, 2025 at 7:20 PM
This surely has to be the response of anyone who’s been paying even minimal attention. It’s very concerning that such a senior military leader thinks Russia isn’t attacking the UK.
December 17, 2025 at 7:16 PM
As if there really were a ’peace process’, as if Russian battlefield claims could be taken at face value, as if Russia had any intention of abiding by anything other than full capitulation, as if Putin were a democratically elected president rather than a gangster. Why does our media play along?
December 14, 2025 at 1:17 PM
You’ve totally misread that. He was pulling out by the time he made impact so there was little force. You can see he’s dropping his foot onto the ground.

The elimination of this man would be widely celebrated
December 13, 2025 at 6:53 PM
How is that supposed to happen when the US and Russia are now allies?
December 13, 2025 at 5:16 PM
Are there any Nato assets (territory or property) that Russia isn’t allowed to attack with impunity? It seems as if it’s Nato that’s the paper tiger.
December 12, 2025 at 5:28 PM
Peter Kyle is Labour’s version of Chris Grayling - hopelessly inadequate.
December 12, 2025 at 1:42 PM
Well not really; Trump and the gargoyle are cut from the same cloth.
December 12, 2025 at 1:39 PM
You seem to be confusing NATO with the UN. Unfortunately, NATO can’t take serious action to pressure Russia because Russia controls the US.
December 10, 2025 at 8:01 AM
I’ll drink to that. Cheers! 🥂

Only because Ukraine is bravely holding them back. If Europe lets Russia win in Ukraine and turn it into another Belarus it will be a completely different story.
December 6, 2025 at 11:42 PM
Humanity is. The Russians aren’t.
December 6, 2025 at 7:16 PM
Article 7 suspension of Hungary’s voting rights is now essential. A four-fifths majority would push it through the Council.
December 6, 2025 at 11:25 AM
Ukraine can and will win because only victory means survival for Ukraine and security for Europe. Putin will eventually succumb to the ongoing destruction of his economy. It would already have happened if America hadn’t chosen to side with Russia, but it will happen.
December 6, 2025 at 9:46 AM
Russians are being killed in their hundreds of thousands because they’re invading. Ukrainians are dying to defend their country. You shouldn’t ’both sides’ this conflict by ignoring what it’s about and suggesting there’s some sort of equivalence between Russian and Ukrainian deaths.
December 6, 2025 at 9:45 AM
No doubt you’ve never been to Ukraine, not during this war at least. To say that Ukraine is fighting America’s proxy war demonstrates a profound ignorance of what’s happening there and what they’re fighting for. At this point America isn’t even on Ukraine’s side.
December 6, 2025 at 3:49 AM
That’s just wishful thinking from another right-wing populist. Russia is unlikely to be defeated in terms of being rolled back as far as Moscow, but it most definitely will lose the war in the sense that it will never occupy Ukraine or bring the country back within its sphere of influence.
December 4, 2025 at 9:02 AM
Yes, but the contingency plan has to be outside the NATO framework because the US is now allied with Russia.
December 3, 2025 at 5:31 PM
2022?! 1622 would be closer.
December 3, 2025 at 3:28 PM
Because he’s fundamentally dishonest and has bought into the lie that Trump is trying to negotiate a just peace for Ukraine, rather than merely looking for ways to make money in Russia. And his answer that there’s no need for a plan B in case the US stops selling weapons was pitiful.
