It’s probably going to be a few years before we can fully appreciate it, but Dune 2, FX Shogun, and Final Fantasy 7: Rebirth being released within the same calendar week has got to be one of the most consequential moments for contemporary AAA storytelling we’ve ever had.

I’m not in the market for a full-length back tattoo, but I’d be lying if I said I wouldn’t entertain the notion of getting inked-up with a portrait of Wilford Brimley captioned “Diabadass.”

Best Halloween moment of the night: A wide-eyed kid grabs the biggest handful of candy out of my bucket he could possibly grab, then with absolutely no self awareness turns around and tells his little brother reaching in, “Don’t be selfish!” Truly, the emotional purity of this holiday is inimitable.

Random person: “Writers must have awesome dreams where they get so many great ideas.”

My dream last night: Kellogg’s is marketing a sodium-citrate-laced cereal to women with constipation called “She-Shyte” (with that specific spelling).
