As of late 2025, the U.S. government has collected approximately only $221 billion in total tariff revenue since Donald Trump took office. For the fiscal year (FY) 2025 alone, duties collected were $195 billion.

Sometimes we give Trump too much credit. Yes, he's dumb and orange and a crook. OK. But, as Kamala Harris said on the Rachel Maddow show, the planning came from a much more sinister place. Prices are uncontrolled, wars rage on, and farmers are hurting. This was in the planning for a decade.

I look at Honeysuckle and wonder how we ended up with such a contrast between what is beautiful and hopeful and what we see with this administration. Trump is determined to create pain and turmoil. Evil is reaching its pinnacle and is being cheered on by so many.
