In Lisbon, Portugal right now. But, as often happens, an obnoxious American starts complaining about; who cares. Anyways, I ask them how they enjoy travelling in a foreign country where they don’t have to worry about being kidnapped in broad daylight and spirited away in an unmarked vehicle.

In Portugal. Met a young working couple from the US. Jokingly said “hey, fix your government.” Their response “ we are only graphic designers” this level of defensive disavowal is sadly commonplace. If regular US citizens don’t really care, we shouldn’t care about them. Not my problem?
