I've never created a TikTok profile anyway. Being spied by a Western government is already bad enough, but risking with a dictatorship that isn't even formally based on the rule of law has always been too much for me. Not that a Trumpland TikTok will change much, though.

yes, there are tools that run in-memory DBs, others that don't have databases because they're based on libraries like Pandas, which deals with tables as memory objects. Plus "external DBs" often means API access and need to cache.

for instance, if you have to annotate an entire genome, you'll need to align its sequences with know sequences available in databases, so that you can associate them to known knowledge.

I have genetic analysis processes that run for days on a SLURM cluster, usually taking a 1T RAM (yes, thera, yes, RAM).
