It seems insane. That’s still brunch hour! Worst part is my MIL lives an hour away. I’ll have to cook, pack up the food, and get two kids ready and out the door by 9:30?! No way man.

The relationship with an academic mentor is so vastly different than any other dynamic; part parent, part boss, part friend. Nobody can really understand the impact they have on our lives and careers. I’m so sorry for your loss.
