I just finished this old Gyoza chopsticks holder set 🥟🥢
I went a little over with the glazing! They ended up looking like burnt Gyozas 😅 or like Mexican empanadas 🤭
But I love how they look inside their Bento box! I'm thinking on remaking them to try and get the color right, we'll see.

I had a few technical difficulties with this piece this far 😅 I guess it's back to the drawing board

So I finally trimmed this piece, but I'm not sure how to follow through! I'm trying to make a bong out of it, so wish me luck 🤞🏻

Trying new shapes in the wheel ☺️

Normally I don't work with clay outside of the pottery wheel, but I'm currently trying to build a side table that requires me to do so!
I've been having a hard time working with large flat clay sheets and how to construct the final piece with them 😦 but hopefully everything will turn out well

Today I stumbled upon this queen, thought I'd share the good vibes

Update on this piece: survived bisque firing! I'm happy with how they are turning out 🙌🏻

Here are some pots I made experimenting with two different clays. I was exploring how to blend them just enough to keep their colors distinct before they fully blend into one.

I love how you can see the progression with each piece 🌟

This is what I have been working on lately, I can't wait to see how it turns out after bisque firing. Also I have not decided what glaze I'm going with 🤔

Additional video here, I loved how the stark difference between the two clays, sadly I was not able to make a more uniform vessel 😅

This was my first attempt at mixing two different clays in the wheel.
I had the HARDEST time working with this and getting used to the different resistance between the two different clays used.
The red clay dries WAY faster than stoneware so it was truly a challenge to trim this one 😅

This is one of the first pieces I made in the wheel, and it's actually the first piece I actually sold 🤭

My real one! I might do some research to throw her a elevated bowl 🤔

First day back at the workshop! 🎉 This year’s goal: Master straight angles on the wheel 📐
Here are my first two attempts 😅 (first one didn’t make it past the recycle bucket).

If you have any tips for getting those perfect angles let me know!

This is another piece made with two clays! The red clay was a lot stiffer and harder to work on the wheel, so it came out less uniform. But I love the shape and how the clays blended 🌞 Have you tried mixing clays before? I'd love to hear about it

This little pot is one of a few pieces I made when trying out mixing two different clays. This is a mix of the regular GES clay and some red clay from Oaxaca. I really like how this experiment came out 😄

I’ve been focusing on wheel-thrown work lately, but this coil-built ashtray was such a fun break. The Mayco Blue Grotto glaze added such a rich, vibrant finish— it’s one of my favorites! How do you think the color works on this piece?

Love the way this planter came out looking, I had never used a sponge before for glazing but I'm enjoying the texture it gave to the finished piece.
I used a mix of Mayco's Green Sapphire over Sea Green, leaving some natural bone color.

For this little ashtray I was so focused on practicing angled walls and forgot to cut the regular ashtray indentations.
I love how the glaze came out! But I'm not sure its a very practical ashtray

This is another ashtray from this batch, I really loved how the colors came out at the end! It's a combination of Mayco's Blue Grotto and Green Sapphire

I originally did not like the way this planter came out, I *I suspect* a very thin layer of Mayco's Blue Grotto glaze.

I'm still debating on whether or not to try another burn with another glaze on top of this 🤔

This planter is another of my favorite pieces from this batch.
The Mayco Blue Grotto glaze came out looking pretty good to me 😄

I wasn't expecting the glaze to come out this brownish but overall I'm happy with how this ashtray came out.
Glaze is Mayco Sea Green, it has like 3 coats

I'm so happy with how this turned out! The glazes are both Mayco: Green Sapphire over Sea Green
