MK has a lot of "division" in a sense. 2D to 3D was tough, then all the sequels on many console gens throughout the years. It lost its appeal to many genxers, and only hardcore fans stuck. The fact that the games are stuck on those older consoles doesn't help bridge the gap. Misunderstood franchise.

I think there was something like that for the N64, theu could build on that.
