At least I can play video games by myself if I want, and for considerably cheaper a lot of the times. Constantly having to drop hundreds of dollars to keep up just ain't me anymore.

But where I am, it just takes too much money to build good decks or to make fun decks even remotely be able to keep up with other people's stuff. I think it would be better for me to just dive deeper into my gaming hobby and leave behind the chipboard crap.

So now I am debating whether I should sell off my card collections or not, seeing as how this is effectively me being done with them. Maybe if the Digimon scene where I lived wasn't limited to one store, I would be more willing to build for fun or wait for that deck.

But if I'm being honest, it doesn't help that I am always tired from having to deal with what anyone with power is doing across the world on a daily basis. Seeing it on the daily saps what battery I have, but that doesn't mean I shouldn't pay attention or speak out.

I was gonna finish building Sakuya, but that apparently got hit three times. And I would wait for the Sakuyamon Advanced Deck, but that's in December. I typically don't do much during the cold months, so that's a dud as well. And I would finish Gammamon, but people here don't play for fun.

I mean, being called Mr certainly does a good job of that. But how about when someone plays old music or commercials just to see if you know them?

The only time I believe they should go past that, is if they believe the money may be coming from an illegal source. But unfortunately these entities believe that because they control the money, that they can dictate your life and push ideals on to the masses. This is not right in my opinion.
June 30, 2025 at 10:15 AM
But I do believe that if more and more sites were to push back hard, that it could be enough to pressure these entities to reverse course. I will admit that I am someone who thinks banks and payment processors should simply worry about money and not where it comes from or try to push ideals.
June 30, 2025 at 10:15 AM
There is some good though, as this can be prevented. It does however require sites to push back, and push back hard. This does mean these sites would most likely be without a payment processor and the like for a period of time, which could cause the site to go under.
June 30, 2025 at 10:15 AM
I'm pretty sure that bar minimum those changes are going to be pushed onto other similar sites, and may end up being pushed onto every site around the planet. I also think they are gonna go even further, effectively forcing every site in the world to adhere to "puritan" ideals through manipulation.

So if I were ever asked to suggest card games for someone to try out, I honestly don't know if I would recommend Yu-Gi-Oh, unless it's to play the less OTK and FTK filled formats like Edison or GOAT. I would probably recommend Digimon honestly, maybe Magic if they have a lot of income.

I also tend to not have my heart in a match if I'm playing against a deck I know is meta or runs meta cards, because my first assumption is that it's gonna curb stomp any deck I made for fun. And while that assumption tends to be true, there are times where fun decks can beat those kinds of decks.

When I play games of commander in Magic, or play a game of Digimon or something, if things go pretty far south very quickly, my instinctual response is to surrender so I can move on to the next game or round or whatever. It's like I have blinders on and can't see when I may have an out.
June 26, 2025 at 7:25 AM
Also may end up streaming some MTG Arena, but not sure yet. Commander is really where I shine, but I did pre-order the pass for the Final Fantasy set. Plus the Moogle companion looks adorable, so I might get it if I have enough gems.

By doing this, they could not only bring back customers they have burned by raising the prices to $80 in the first place, but also have the potential of people who couldn't afford to get into their games before buying in and trying them out.
May 25, 2025 at 7:53 AM
I believe once it has reached that point, they should drop the price of games back down to $60, or maybe $65 if it's a "premium" title. This would be low enough that it would be more affordable for customers, while not being so low as to cut deep into profits (especially with all the cost cuts done)
May 25, 2025 at 7:53 AM
Once they reach this point, they will no longer be able to use anything in the physical world as an excuse to charge as much as they are or more (besides saying they have to pay their employees more, which would most likely come out to be a lie later).

From all of the information I have seen so far, it seems like most companies want to go full digital in like five to ten years tops. This is also most likely a timeframe in which they will start using AI for more things in game development.
