This is heartbreaking and infuriating. America used to stand for something but it’s unrecognizable today. I hope all Republicans rot for enabling this, and everyone involved should resign.

You can be patriotic about it too: In America, people are innocent until proven guilty. In America, you don’t throw people in a jail because you don’t like what they say. In America, no one is above the law. I wish Dem leaders would frame it this way more.

I really wonder who put this bug in his ear. I know it's easy to assume an ulterior motive with this crowd, but I can't help but think he is trying to influence the market here

Of course he’ll just be pardoned but this needs to be called out as a massive breach of trust by the Trump administration and those complicit in letting this happen

Would it make sense for dems to start blaming republicans as a group for this? None of them have the same immunity to the crazy as Trump does, and beating the drums with “this Republican administration is canceling cancer treatments and Medicaid” seems like it would sway public opinion imho

I know this isnt as gratifying, but we can’t just blame regular voters or you will push them away. Instead Dems need to use the chaos to pick fights like they did today to show people we are on their side

Ugh it’s so frustrating that people just assume someone successful at business would be good at government. Maximizing profit and good governance are often antithetical, and if your main purpose for being there isn’t to help people you’re doing it wrong.

As a voter I'm having a hard time caring about this. I would have done the same thing if it were my kids they were going after this way, and you know it was just going to get worse. Can we go back to fighting for higher wages now?
