They derive from the Physics term vibration. What's more exciting is the fact all states of matter are resonating an array of vibrations with a unique resonance frequency that when in tune will pull the material/disrupt/rupture the lattice structure and break van der waals and covalent bonds.

People cling to their bibles like I caress the Chicago Manual of Style. I own two. Unlike the bible this book of knowledge is ever evolving and not full of plagiarized creation myths of older more insightful myths.
