was it casual when someone asked me "are you two rivals?" and it cut to a scene of us having knives at each other's throats as a metaphor for our dynamic, strengthening the entire movie's theme of us being fated rivals, just for me to respond with "we're just friends" #kenhina

Is it such a crime to crave it? That burning feeling of a pair of eyes boring a hole through my chest, and not gliding past my cherub skin? Like arms sliding through mine and slotting in between for an embrace, because apparently that's all that I have best to give. Never to be lusted after, as if that's something to utterly desire, but would it kill someone to look at me and see a carved mannequin to fit clothes into— to sculpt layers of clothing and watch as they cascade past my frame and not to cling to me immediately like the claws of demons?

Because the truth of the matter is that I am loveable. In all the ways the poets scream into the stars; in meadows, horizons, and the depths of the oceans, in shades of green and pearl and blue setting into hues of delicate orange until it meets dark cerulean, inherently intelligent and lyrical in every sense but never to be the constellation of my namesake, praised for the way I embody— My body; cursed to be ignored until it's an easel, disfigured from the very acrylic it holds. Not that it makes any difference.
