Yes I'm aware of that thanks, Trump has a history of making overblown statements - he can't unilaterally annex Canada or Greenland. Treaties need to be approved by 2/3 of the Senate which he won't get because the US as a whole isn't crazy

No the US doesn't want to occupy Canada and Greenland the current unstable occupant of the White House does.
NATO predates the ECSC so I'd argue is more responsible for peace in Europe because of this and it's power because of the US membership

Yes, NATO can take care of peace and has done since WW2. I'm all for Free Trade but not a fan of the idea of United States of Europe
