Sharks ruled oceans long before dinosaurs. Every part of their body is built for survival.

What makes them evolutionary masterpieces?

Teeth that tell time
Built-in prey detectors
Drag-reducing skin
Cartilage instead of bone
Guardians of blue carbon

🔍How to Tell the Difference Between a Shark Egg and a Ray Egg?

Along coastlines around the world, you might spot tough, leathery pouches washed ashore. These aren’t seaweed or debris, they’re the egg cases of #sharks and #rays, also known as mermaid’s purses!

Did you know that sharing information in a clear, interactive, and memorable way can make a huge difference in #marineconservation? 💡

We believe that #education goes beyond just sharing facts and figures; we must ignite emotions, spark curiosity, and create unforgettable experiences.

With the support of the MBZ Species Conservation Fund, we are leading a pioneering conservation initiative in the Darién province of Panama - safeguarding the only currently demonstrated nursery for the Critically Endangered largetooth sawfish (Pristis pristis) in the Americas.
March 28, 2025 at 4:32 PM
🆘 According to the IUCN Red List, sawfishes are among the most threatened marine vertebrates globally, with populations declining by more than 90% due to overexploitation and habitat loss. Without urgent conservation action, they face extinction.
