and yet in another podcast, @Canadaland will be blaming Carney for the growing deficit and size of public service. There is no cohesion or even long-term thinking in their research. They basically act like a political opposition that's just trying to score points at question period.

yep. he takes pride in being called an asshole, but he's not even that. He's really just an idiot.

It seems that the one important and new information featured in this podcast is buried deep about 80% of the way, after anyone would have fallen asleep or drifted away. Yet the "debunking" of Blundell, which is not "news" by any means (snopes) features as a highlight.

even growing up in Québec, pre-gentrification, real maple syrup was seasonal. The rest of the time we used corn syrup and molasses. Corn syrup was not marketed as anything else but corn syrup.

it was a metaphor for the internet, but it works even better with AI era internet. I like how schtroumpf à lunettes slaps a password on it.

C'est quand même un ministre de l'environnement (fédéral) qui a émis l'arrêté et le décret d'urgence pour mettre les travaux sur pause, en 2018 et 2021.

I anticipate an uptick of climate denial pseudo-science papers fueled by SciteAI published in sketchy journals, anytime now

Ce que Stéphane essaie de dire par la bande, c'est qu'il se pense lui-même suprêmement intelligent.

They ran that article once again as a skeet with a clear explanation. What bugs me now is the cartoon, though also done by a scientist and not by the social media team, which misleadingly represents the size of Greenland during the PETM.
March 16, 2025 at 5:47 PM
Yes, and the blog has been favourably edited (in my opinion) since. I distinguish between the scientists who wrote that blog post and the NOAA social media team responsible for skeets and possibly other publications (linkedIn, FB, etc.). At the time it seemed like a drastic change.

In the article you seem to imply that both the Canadian Wildlife Service, which is under ECCC, and the DFO C&P branch, would merge with Parks Canada. This would double the number of employees working for Parks Canada and mean no small reorganization, requiring the amendment of several acts.

I was not aware of the staged progress at 200 Kent. Though occupied mostly by the federal government, the building belongs to the Great-West Life Realty division. Some people used to call these buildings "Darth Vader buildings".

The NCC installed markers to prevent bird collisions at 2 of its downtown buildings
March 15, 2025 at 10:15 PM
56% of bird collisions occur at buildings with 4 storeys or more.
Safe Wings Ottawa recently treated 200 Kent, which is partly occupied by DFO. SWO are funded by donations and tax credits. They also partnered with the NCC to create the Bird-Safe Design Guidelines.
