I'm just relaying what our teachers have expressed after using such a setup when we proposed replacing the tablets with laptops without touch controls.

I also recognize this only works in an ideal setup. When they break there's very little backup and they can break in all sorts of ways.

When used/working properly, smart boards are no better than an overhead projector or chalk board, but can save time not having to print out transparencies and when paired with a wireless tablet, allow the teacher to walk around and not be stuck in one place.

TBF, you knew your game was coming out.

Ed tech is not about the classroom experience, and when used/working properly, gives no advantage over any other tool in the classroom.

It's meant to reduce administrative overhead and double entry. But like any tool, if not used/designed/setup properly, it ends up making more work for everyone.

Laptops, like any tool, need to be used appropriately and with care to be of any use in the classroom with the expectation that they will also be used at home, if the school allows them to be taken home. This requires planning and training and is the evolution of the calculator debate.

Wait 'till they hear about the Latin alphabet.

This is a tough one, because you don't want to encourage insubordination in the ranks when on mission and every second counts, but soldiers shouldn't be afraid of disciplinary actions for questioning what they believe to the best of their knowledge is an illegal order/deployment.

If Bluesky wasn't such an echo chamber I'd say, see above.

But I don't expect many MAGA die-hards to see posts like this. Indeed much of the content calling them out is not published in places they follow.

It just seemed like people were piling on Carney with a US lens, so I wanted to add context

Yes, but that's not Carney's fault. Half of the jokes at MAGA's expense are simply lost on them.

Which makes it good diplomacy. He can mock Trump's sensitivity/idiocy to his face in the eyes of Canadians while letting Trump think he's won some kind of concession.

A Canadian apologizing is not an admission of guilt or responsibility. It's probably the most sincere, "I'm sorry you feel that way" any US American will ever hear.

Here's a thought.

Every time the president or any congressionally approved executive officer commits high crimes or misdemeanors you announce and file a motion to impeach.
