Imho it is the single most important outcome of any educational experience. Research has shown over and over again that high self efficacy expectation is strongly correlated with academic performance, resilience, and overall life happiness.

Thanks for asking. Self-efficacy (expectation) is the idea that I have what it takes to deliberately influence the outcome of future events. It is closely related to self determination and was first discussed by Albert Bandura in the 1970s.
