I got on Grace for the very first time and we’ve spent this time building trust, taking things slow, and learning each other’s rhythm. Today wasn’t about doing anything fancy—it was about connection. Just swinging a leg over and sitting quietly, breathing together.

When we step into the role of caretaker, we must also be willing to shoulder the weight of difficult decisions. Humane euthanasia, while heartbreaking, is sometimes the kindest choice we can make. Doing what’s right for the animal should always come before what is easiest for us.
