For the first time, the European Parliament will use the term ‘genocide’ to describe the situation in Gaza. This is thanks to months of lobbying by @left.eu

I spoke to @anadoluajansicom.bsky.social recently about EU civil servants' concerns over complicity in war crimes in Gaza, due to decisions by EU leaders.

Trade has continued to flow to Israel despite ICC and ICJ cases, and there are so far no signs this will change.

Netanyahu is wanted in The Hague for "starvation as a method of warfare and the crimes against humanity of murder, persecution, and other inhumane acts"

And EU Commissioners are meeting with his Ministers to promote trade.

Today ursula von der Leyen is announcing a massive militarisation package called ReArm Europe.

This will be good news for regimes in the Middle East who are the biggest recipient of EU weapons exports.

When you refuse to implement the ICC arrest warrant for Netanyahu, you make it impossible to implement the ICC arrest warrant for Putin.

At 14:30 today, the EU will hold a summit with Israel.

This comes as Israel; sends tanks into the West Bank; displaces 40,000 people, withholds 600+ Palestinian hostages, and plans the ethnic cleansing of Gaza. All as an ICC arrest warrant for Netanyahu stands.

How can we act as if this is normal?

Tense standoff in the European Parliament today as @left.eu MEPs protested a far-right event which called for the forced expulsion of millions of people from Europe.

Nazism is on the rise across Europe, it’s everyone’s responsibility to stand against it.

How is the Gaza genocide linked to human rights abuses in Europe?

In December, the EU signed a $192m contract with Israeli arms manufacturer IAI for drones that have been tested on Palestinians in Gaza.

The EU will use the Israeli drones to target migrants in the Mediterranean.

Do you ever think of the failed French expedition to Ireland in 1796?

If the wind blew a slightly different direction that night we could have had a first President Wolfe Tone.

To be fair to Trump, Christianity is radical and left.

"Come now, you rich people, weep and wail for the miseries that are coming to you [...] You hoarded wealth in the last days. The wages you failed to pay the workers who mowed your fields cry out against you."
