I met Milak during fieldwork in Uummannaq - calm, curious, and always up for a pet. She now stands at the National Museum, part of Greenland’s living heritage.

I spoke about qimmit, Inuit hunting culture, and Arctic heritage.

The mounted dog is Milak, met during fieldwork in Uummannaq.

I was interviewed yesterday at the Greenland National Museum... With expedition leader Manuel Calvo Villena and Milak, a sled dog I met and petted during fieldwork in Uummannaq. Seeing her again, now part of the museum’s collection, was emotional.
