Rumor has it that Nessel wants to return to practicing private law.

As for Rivet, she just arrived to the house - it would be a bad look (and very risky) for her to jump right into the senate race a few months on the job.

Ultimately, I think the only 2 major candidates will be Mallory and Stevens

She’s more on the progressive side, so there’s a decent chance of it. No matter her position, it will be better than Haley Stevens, who I would consider to be more of a moderate/conservadem (conservadem might be abit of a stretch)

She’s supported Rubio, Noem, Bessent, Ratcliffe - which is far less than many other Dem senators. Virtually all Dems have voted for at least a couple of them (which isn’t great).

But, she didn’t vote in line with Schumer on that horrid CR bill - which she deserves credit for

I don’t think it’s doable. Actblue is just the platform for all dem candidates to receive donations.

The texts are annoying, but, it’s a small price to pay for supporting candidates you believe in imo

Absolutely love Brits following swing state politics 🇬🇧

the primary election is esrly August 2026 and the general is November 2026 - so still a while to go
April 4, 2025 at 12:00 AM
As someone who has donated every cycle since 2020, I don’t think there is. I think it’s just the price we pay for supporting the candidates we like and believe in.

She doesn’t (at least not yet).

However, her likely opponent in the Democratic primary, Haley Stevens (who is expected to announce soon) has taken a lot of AIPAC money.

It’s something I’m keeping in mind as the primary battle takes shape.

What’s wrong with Slotkin? She’s done a pretty decent job so far - she also won on the same ballot that Kamala lost, which by itself is very impressive.
April 3, 2025 at 11:54 PM
She could be one day if she wins this senate seat. The senate to president pipeline is very real. Just ask Obama.
April 3, 2025 at 11:53 PM
It’s good for getting her name out there - and raising not just her statewide profile but also her national profile (which will help her fundraise)

But yeah, independent media is important too

Elections are still far away - the primary will be August 5th 2026 (I think!), the general will be November 3 2026

Thank you. She is definitely stronger than Haley Stevens, the only other major candidate who will announce on the Dem side
April 3, 2025 at 11:46 PM
She’s a lot less corporate than the other major Dem likely to jump into this senate race (rep Haley Stevens) so she has my backing, unless governor Whitmer changes her mind on a senate run (very unlikely)

Nw! All this stuff is super interesting (and important to know)! These are the wiki pages differentiating the two types of senate because alot of people confuse them (there’s no 2026 page for state senate yet)

Senators are statewide offices - 2 in each state. But state senators are regional elections - those will also be up for grabs in the midterms next year 😃
April 3, 2025 at 8:40 PM
Two senators in Michigan - currently Peters and Slotkin. But Peters is retiring next year - and hopefully Mallory will replace him.
April 3, 2025 at 8:38 PM
Bottom line is this primary race is between Mallory and Rep Haley Stevens. Everyone else has ruled out a run.

Mallory is the stronger of the two candidates and so everyone should line up behind her.
