Gonna be a long weekend of European One masking
This is going nowhere, on my sacrificial Hunter to get a darker ‘grey’ I’m just misting the white over the black and it looks terrible. Different greys will look good but nothing like true to life. Think I might be back to European One 🤔

Tamiya A10 now primed. Thinking of doing this very unusual scheme but in real life the effect was achieved by painting black all over then applying ‘a controlled overspray of white’. Sounds like a fucking nightmare to replicate! Will give it a go and if it sucjs will revert to European One 👍

Work on the Tamiya A10 continues! Lot of negative comments out there about this old kit but apart from some time consuming filling and sanding on the fuselage I’m really enjoying the build. Plus I’ve wanted it for nearly 40 years 🙃. Still deciding which scheme to go for.

Always wanted this when I was younger as I used to see them flying quite a bit. Now I can afford it the interwebs tell me it’s a crap kit but I don’t care. Got some decals for early A10s on the way and gonna have me some (inaccurate) fun 👍

Just putting together my blog post on this year's RIAT and trawling through shots, happy with these CF-188 pics taken with the Sigma 150-600mm I hired for an hour or so via FRIAT, the extra reach came in handy. Those exhausts were mighty close to the tarmac!

Anyone know what the chuff is going on here? Airfix 1/48 Canberra. It was dipped in original Klear polish, then glued with PVA. After a period of time canopy has gone milky cloudy. Have tried re soaking in Klear and even strong ammonia. And any ideas how to get it totally clear again?!

This is such an epic book! The detail is phenomenal and so many photos I’ve never seen before. Absolutely worth every penny.

Building an Airfix Helldiver, this kit must be older than me. I build them for nostalgia but reality is warped pieces, poor fit, unusable decals and relentless sanding and filling. Also I’m not a very good modeller. And of course I had to buy new decals and reference material 🙂.
