Lastly, we found largest use quantities among people reporting various sources or predominately illegal sources. Those two user groups accounted for about two-thirds of total demand as reported in this study.
The home cultivation and pharmacy groups covered less than 30% of demand.

Frequent users were more likely to obtain cannabis from illegal sources and pharmacies, or through home cultivation.

Interestingly, those who obtained cannabis from pharmacies reported the lowest levels of mental distress.
We would have expected the opposite for people with medical conditions.

We found that many respondents not only obtained cannabis from one but from multiple sources, often legal and illegal. Social supply remained a common source for many users.

Das entspricht nicht den mir bekannten Erkenntnissen aus unterschiedlichen bundesweiten und regionalen Umfragen.
Nach Daten des BIÖG ist er zuletzt sogar zurückgegangen.

Have you looked at the rise in alcohol-specific deaths? not sure if this can explain the recent rise but could be a contributor.
