so many of these problems are because not all browsers have adopted overlay scrollbars as the default!

I got 15. the best one was the horizontal scrollbars. at my work we've recently been brainstorming the width and overflow valued of <html>, <body>, <main> and <section>s to implement the needed design (it has sliders and full-width sections...) while avoiding any horizontal scrolling

you can use the network tab of devtools to see how much js is downloaded. base react could be like 300 kb iirc which is borderline fine, but if the total js is 2+ mb then there's definitely a heavy framework running (my uni's webapp loads 4 mb of frameworks and almost no actual application code)

there is a correlation. it can also be vue. my university's new webapp for students uses nuxt (framework on top of vue) and it's hella slow for a very simple page with just like timetable, grades, looking up registered users and filling in various forms. not much interactivity or state management
