The Patriots offense is rated higher in that graphic.

Bills have been unlucky in that their best rosters coincided with the Chiefs and Bengals at their peak. Then the easier path this year coincided with a diminished roster. You have to be good and lucky to win it all.

Wallace or Brown to RG and Owenu to RT?

At age 44 Steve DeBerg served as the ‘98 Falcons backup after four years out of the league (several of which were spent as an assistant coach). But I think he was in camp at least

As a longtime Pats fan, I un-fondly remember the many occasions on which we were told that Brady was in decline. And then the O-line and skill players improved/got healthier and he rose to the top again. I’ll believe Mahomes has declined when the situation improves and he doesn’t

You can lead ‘em to water but you can’t make ‘em drink.

Especially if they already have rabies.

Larry Johnson had a weird career. 1st round pick but sat behind Holmes for 1.5 years. Then played at an All Pro level for two years (age 26 and 27) in which he had a ludicrous # of carries. And then sadly the wheels fell off.

Agreed. They played their 3rd stringer! It’s only with the benefit of hindsight that playing Milton is framed as not tanking hard enough.
April 25, 2025 at 4:10 PM
The reality is that the Bills were full on tanking, which is easier from an optics standpoint when you’re resting for the playoffs. If the Pats had played Brissett and benched more starters there is no guarantee they would have lost. As it was they were playing multiple replacement level players

What would it cost the Bears to go from 10 to 4?

Someone should ask the press secretary if that only applies to good ideas

Williams is an overpay but the context really matters. NE still has 100 million in cap space and no one to extend until Gonzalez is eligible after next season. Their biggest problem right now is not having any LT or WR on the market to spend their money on!
March 13, 2025 at 3:52 PM
This is a great point. The Browns signed Garrett to a massive 5 year extension (through) 2020, with one year and the team option left on his rookie contract. It went from top of the market to well below market with 2 years remaining.

What about 2025 3rd and a conditional 2026 2nd that could become a 1st if he has an All Pro level season?
March 6, 2025 at 2:04 PM
Your skepticism of McD is fair given LV and Denver, but worth mentioning 2008, when NE were 7th in offensive DVOA and 8th in points with Cassel at QB for 15.5 games.
