I think this might be a useful test to weed out bad faith actors. If a politician or commentator cites a problem as a cudgel to hurt someone they don't like rather than trying to address the problem, they are probably just being an asshole.

The main one is that they (the Republicans) did a great job of instilling fear while we (the Dems) went for joy. After every Trump speech, you could feel the anger, suspicion, fear and hate lingering in the air.

Most of the world's problems are complex with difficult solutions that require sacrifice, fundamental changes and effort. I can understand the urge to say "Fuck That. Let the guy promising to solve it all with no need for personal effort or even inconvenience give it a try."
